Who we are
Scry AI Ltd, company number 17142797, registered at Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@scryit.ai.
Acceptance
By using the Scry app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use Scry. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
The service
Scry provides allergen and dietary information about restaurants and food products. The service includes a free tier with limited features and an optional paid premium subscription.
Important health and safety notice
Scry is an information tool, not a medical service. Allergen information displayed in the app is sourced from restaurant allergen matrices, public databases, and AI estimation. It is not medical advice, and Scry AI Ltd is not a healthcare provider.
Restaurant menus, ingredients, suppliers, and preparation methods change frequently. Data shown in the app may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate despite our best efforts. Some allergen data is estimated by AI and is clearly labelled as such within the app.
You must always confirm allergen information directly with restaurant staff before ordering, especially if you have a severe allergy or are at risk of anaphylaxis. Do not rely solely on information provided through Scry when making decisions about food safety.
Scry AI Ltd accepts no liability for any allergic reaction, injury, illness, or harm arising from reliance on information provided through the service.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information about your dietary requirements. Providing false allergy information could put you or your family members at risk. You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@scryit.ai or through the app settings.
Free trial
New users receive a 7-day unlimited free trial with full access to all features. No payment card is required. When the trial ends, your account reverts to the free tier. You will not be charged unless you actively subscribe to a premium plan.
Premium subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store at the prices displayed at the time of purchase (currently £3.99 per month or £29.99 per year). Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play Store > Subscriptions on Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to premium features until the period you have paid for expires.
Refund requests should be directed to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as they handle all payment processing. Scry AI Ltd does not store or process your payment card details.
Free tier
After your free trial or if you cancel a premium subscription, you retain access to the free tier which includes unlimited barcode scanning, a basic allergy card, the destination explorer, FSA recall alerts, and family profile management. A rotating selection of restaurants is available free of charge.
User-submitted content
You may submit reports, corrections, and reviews through the app. By submitting content, you grant Scry AI Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, modify, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the service. You retain ownership of your content.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit. Submitting deliberately false or misleading reports about restaurants or allergen data may result in account suspension.
We may moderate, edit, or remove user-submitted content at our discretion, including content that is inaccurate, misleading, abusive, or in breach of these terms.

Data protection and privacy
We process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your dietary profile, including allergy and intolerance information, is classified as special category data (health data) under UK GDPR Article 9. We process this data on the basis of your explicit consent, which you provide when you set up your dietary profile. You can modify or withdraw this data at any time through the app.
You have rights under UK GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to withdraw consent. Full details of your rights and how to exercise them are set out in our Privacy Policy.
We will never sell your personal data. Where we provide aggregated data to restaurant partners, it is anonymised and subject to a minimum threshold of 10 users per data point.
Intellectual property
The Scry app, brand, design, and content (including allergen databases, restaurant data, and scoring algorithms) are owned by Scry AI Ltd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our written permission.
Data accuracy and limitations
While we take reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of allergen information, we cannot guarantee that all data is complete, current, or error-free. Sources of allergen data include:
- Restaurant-verified allergen matrices (labelled "Verified" in the app)
- Allergen information extracted from official restaurant sources (labelled "Sourced")
- AI-estimated allergen data (labelled "AI-estimated" and visually distinguished in the app)
The provenance of allergen data is always displayed to you. You should place greater reliance on verified and sourced data, and treat AI-estimated data with additional caution.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scry AI Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to any allergic reaction, illness, or injury.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any direct claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months, or £50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you breach these terms, submit deliberately false data, or misuse the reporting system. You may stop using the service at any time.
On termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Any active subscription continues until the end of the current billing period but will not renew.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email to active users. Continued use of the service after changes are communicated means you accept the updated terms.
